Aam4e: Hi there I'm Umar nice to meet you ;o] I'm new on the site just try to get some of my stuff out there and see what some ppl say here is one please let me know what you think of this I have a lot more where that came from. I have a blog have a look if you like what you see it's http://aam4e.thebl ogger.com.au MY COUNTRY Somewhere near the centre, out on the way to the middle Lined by desert heat and rugged unforgiving earth I saw the wonder and felt the prize captured in the land Harsh rocky outcrops rolling tumble fodder and rich red sand I felt the dreaming of this earth as the grains of sand soon spoke I felt the air reveal its wonder unlacing layers of hidden smoke Vision engulfing my entire core and my eternal being The sun it spoke, the clouds they talked, In an arrangement of an internal seeing Resonating within this frame no part bigger than the next Layer upon delicate layer a precession of secrets well kept The unity of the function, the networking so complete Inter-dependence and independence all captured within the web Rolling seasons, waxing moons, a land quite alive – not dead Despite man’s best efforts this country still lives to dream So harsh and cruel a treatment from a mother’s youngest son A tragic tale of love gone wrong and humanity stripped away Laid to waste by the foul and weak all remains of the day How could a mother trust again could she ever face our way? And if we could ever move forward, what would we ever say? 20 – 10 – 2011 Hope to hear from you soon have a good one....
butterflyzrfree: Hey Judih, assuming western Negev is realtively quiet, as I am gettig no letters. How are YOU?

Hey..Just wanted to drop by and say that u have done a great job in putting up the site and replying to posts and the sorts!! And you are still doing it!!
All the best
John, I wish to thank you for this great site.(that goes for your other workers to). Because of this site I feel I have grown as a writer. I have made friends across the globe. and been given good advice from staff and other poets. I have tried to promote it here in Australia and have had a couple of writers I know join and enjoy the site. 'Dice" being one of my head. When possible I donate too, as I would not like to see this site vanish. Pleas accept my gratitude in saying thanks for a great place to be. dAVE.(David Smith)
I like the way you set this all up - I am a member of other poetry forums and this is the most active one I've seen yet!
thankyou for gotpoetry. this site means a great deal to me. some of the people i have met on here, are some of the most wonderfull people i have met in my life.- love and peace- paul.p.s. i just found out you are english, i'm english too, from sunderland. which part of london are you from.
hey, hey! j. powers!!! i haven't seen you since... man, 2003 i think. yeah, 2003. i'm sure you don't remember me, but i sure as hell remember you!
it was in Providence at AS220 --- that was THE VERY FIRST time i ever heard a spoken word piece & a poetry slam live. you were the main host, along with jared paul. you had spit one in between either the youth slam & featured speaker, or during the open mic session that happened right before the youth slam. it may sound like nothing much to you, but ever since then i've been HOOKED on spoken word.
anyways. well, i just wanted to say thanks for the comment & rating on "Verse 2: Queen To King.." i really appreciate it.
HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD ONE!
yeah I'd also like to thank you for taking the time to comment on my poems. thanks for building the site and making it better every time.
Thanks for reading and commenting on a few of my poems. I really appreciate it. Constructive criticism is nothing but a good thing. I also appreciate your site! Thanks for building it.
I need friends lol. I figured... who better than the guy that runs the operation? And yeah, I don't get it: I don't read a poem without rating AND commenting on it; that's half the fun.

Thanks for commenting on my poem. It feels good to know people read atleast some of the stuff I write.
