Analysis of dragonflies at dawn
John Jessup Kennan 1953 (Pomona)
accompanied by one-legged
angels
dusty wings gnarled fingers on
dimestore harps
i sing my vision human
endeavor in the key of whatever
sharp
manuevering wheelchairs
between the outta lines
unleavened grey
matter on a cutting board
succumbs to rolling pin
massage
their voices so perfectly
red deep and rich freshly
bloody
pull the lever another nickel
drops sorry no jukebox match try
again
those ain't angels
singin that's a cat's night
out
pipes that flow through this
heart are
male-to-female
fittings next sound you
hear will be that of cranial
implosion red and bone
catterwallin perhaps applied pipe
thread tape plumber's putty would
help but i don't think
so we all blow apart in the
end
please forgive me while i play this
aorta flute pluck this vena
cava jews harp
yes i spose i should focus on
rainbows and snapping
turtles lizards & cute little
birdies but the
dragon
flies at dawn
