Analysis of The Dragon and the Pests

The dragon curled as tight as ice
Was the length of the sky ten-fold
She preferred to guarantee her fills
As she had to often been without food and cold
She slept on the mountains
Curling around them for to small where hills
Though a dragon whilst unearthing she was never very bold

On one day the dragon’s roar
Was heard from far and wide
The military set the thunderbirds a-soar
To take the dragons hide
When the dragon saw those winged beasts
She flew direct and straight
And blew their metal wings to east
For it was check-mate

The thunderbirds had failed
And so, their captain bailed
The military fumed
For they knew the dragon loomed
For more lunch was she after
And the military couldn’t starve her

They sent out an offering
Rare metals and the rest
For she only ate these metals
And never meat and flesh
They knew that she could slaughter
But unprovoked would rest
They hid among the nettles
Awaiting her return

They where well prepared
For they each came with their net
By their side was their rum
They waited and they waited
For they knew that she would come
She finally appeared for she had been baited
They shot at her their nets though she didn’t seem to care
She shrugged them off like water going through an outlet

She hissed and she roared
Then flew off with their metals
Back to her mountain
And her kettles
She passed by the fountain
And back home she soared
