Analysis of Hidden Love

There was a time many years ago
Our love for each other we did not know.
When we first met we were barely friends.
But now my love for you has no ends.
--
I dream of making love to you each night.
And maybe one of these days I just might.
The problem is that we are both taken.
That means someone's heart we would be breaking.
--
Nothing can stop what we’re feeling inside.
But by our promises we should abide.
Although we may never be together.
We’ll be in love forever and ever.
--
Well, maybe we could meet up a few times.
Our true love is not committing a crime.
My passion for you is so very strong.
So how can our love be considered wrong?
--
If we’re discovered we will pay the price.
But our time together will be so nice.
We’ll be careful not to let others know.
Our love for each other we cannot show.

About this poem

The #2 poem that I wrote while my internet was down. Going on the theme of the first poem I wrote (Fated Love), I continued along those lines.
