Analysis of RIVER vs. POND PEOPLE

JaQuiondia Banks 1990 (MILWAUKEE, WI)

River vs. Pond People
Surround me where the river flows
Where my mind can expand to grow
Where the current fluently take me away
And contentment and initiative separate
Knowledge is what my mind seeks
Mastery is what my heart and soul speak
With clear directions that is not oblique
From those who can teach me skillful techniques
So, I can be the best version of me
I can no longer surround myself by the pond at a stand still
Where complacency become so real
I need the water flow that will fill my cup
Where my soul and energy in pumped and not corrupted
And the vision I see is not obstructed
By those who are unproductive in their own personal lives
And who know better what I should do with mine
I cannot want more for others than they want for themselves
Though I want for us all to win as well
But I will prevail even if I die trying
I am destined for a change to expand my horizons
