Analysis of If The Blue Mountains Could Sing
Jamal Upshaw 1954 (NYC)
A sea of Blue Mountains
As far as the eyes can see
Sing about your blue tapestry
Sweet Blue Mountains
Your purple majesty
Deep in your eyes
The cool rivers flow
Hills and pine trees
All covered with snow
Eagles fly high
Above every hilltop
Blue Mountains roll
Down to the blue shore
Blue eyes watch over me
A sweet voice sings back to thee
Sing in every chapel
Sing a Tennessee wedding song
If the Blue Mountains could sing, then
All the church bells would ring,
And sing, Blue Mountains were
You belong
