UGWEVORO NA MATSI GA MAGANDA
Ugwevoro gufunyaa, Kuri matsi ga maganda.
Guveye ugushu paa, Gusamba Kuri Amanda.
Utegomba yago mbaa, Urahya amara munda.
Ni kevovo ugwevoro, Amatsi ga amaganda.
Kovezaga avahinda, Baba yanava tsisendi.
Zyayizura muvihinda, zitonyatonyaza zindi.
Ng'ani mwiyaga itsinda, Uvudaka vuvi Kandi.
Ni kevovo ugwevoro, Amatsi ga amaganda.
Witu kuritsa katsyanda, amatu na getsimburi.
Mashinda kumbu gahanda, Ovovehi vwidikiri.

Ni kevovo ugwevoro, Amatsi ga amaganda.

Ni kevovo ugwevoro, Amatsi ga amaganda.
Bragging is rotten like rotten soup from beans. There are people who say they only eat meat when hunger has brooded in their homes. Some say they will be relocating abroad but are glued to their homes. Some brag they are rich but are poor. This poem is written in Kimaragoli from Western Kenya.
