Analysis of Righteous Refuge
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Give an ear to what I say,
And consider my groaning;
Meditating as I pray,
As I continue moaning.
Give attention to the sound,
Hearken my voice to my cry;
My King and my God astound,
For I pray while I sigh.
In the morning You have heard,
I prepare a sacrifice;
Of my time spent in the Word,
That this world will not entice.
You are not One who delights,
In wickedness or evil;
That dwells in the darkened nights,
In the lure of the devil.
The proud stand not before me,
You hate all evildoers;
Workers of iniquity,
That are foolish pursuers.
You destroy those who speak lies,
Abhor the deceitful man;
For I know that you despise,
Someone with a wicked plan.
The abundant steadfast love,
That is entering Your House;
Flowing down from up above,
So comforting to my spouse.
I will bow down unto You,
Unto Your Holy Temple;
Knowing that Your Word is true,
And proclaimed to the people.
Lead me in Your righteousness,
Make Your way straight before me;
And I retain holiness,
With Your insight for to see.
