Analysis of Even Now

Even now.
Something reminds me of you.
Even now.
The trauma I inherited from you; I haven’t conquered your demons.

The pain you’ve caused always leave.
To stay deep in my memories just enough to forget for a second.
Then it resurfaces and attempts to drown me.

Even now.
My heart mourns for the time lost. When you ruled my world.
Even now.
The scars you’ve left behind bleed.

How come I was alone in our experience?
Why am I the only one being tormented?
Did you really have to throw away the fond memories?
And leave me with the hell you created.

Even now.
Somehow fingers are still pointing at me.
Even now.
People don’t understand how our situation was.

Blame is still falling on me.
People always say I should be over everything.
That time has passed and I should forget.
But my heart can’t forget the agony.

Even now.
When you don’t matter to me. It remembers.
Even now.
My heart isn’t healed. And I have to shoulder the damage you’ve inflicted.
