Analysis of The Comforting God
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Hope for you is unshaken,
As you share in suffering;
You have not been forsaken,
Christ is here for buffering.
He shares in our comfort,
And want you to be aware;
Rewarded by your effort,
If you are willing to share.
To have such an affliction,
Such utter burden despair;
Holding such an addiction,
To temptations that you share.
Merely like a death sentence,
Only God raises the dead;
And forgives through repentance,
Once as spiritually fed.
He saves you from all danger,
As we have set our hope;
Jesus is not a stranger,
In times that we have to cope.
You must get help through your prayer,
Giving thanks for gifts bestowed;
Intercessions that you share,
Grants confessions be bellowed.
Testify from your conscience,
Behave with sincerity;
Letting God be your defense,
Through spirituality.
I write only what you read,
And hope that you understand;
For I am planting a seed,
Of what the Lord does command.
On that day the Lord of Host,
Acknowledge what you have done;
But is not able to boast,
Not finished that had begun
