Analysis of Thankful Heart
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I give You thanks with my whole heart,
Before the gods I sing Your praise;
I shall always sing to impart,
Throughout the night and all my days.
I bow toward Your holy temple,
As I give thanks unto Your name;
Your steadfast love to Your people,
Your faithfulness I will proclaim.
For You are always magnified,
Above all things Your name and Word;
My strength of soul is glorified,
Knowing that my prayers have been heard.
All the kings of earth will praise You,
For they heard the Word from Your tongue;
Discovering that it is true,
Upon their ears that have been flung.
They shall sing the ways of Your Word,
Great is glory of You O Lord;
Fully focused and never blurred,
I will not let You be ignored.
For though You shall always be high,
The haughty You know from afar;
You respect the lowly who cry,
Considered as His shining star.
I walk in the midst of trouble,
You preserve and revive my life;
As You pull me from the rubble,
Console me in the midst of strife.
You fulfill Your purpose in me,
Your steadfast love always endure;
Forsake not the work that shall be,
From Your hands that will remain pure.
