Analysis of A Long Journey

John A. Sewell 1979 (Cookeville)

My journey started so many years ago, With nothing but work boots and clothes.
I fought through so many demons and fears, just to let the world know that my work was sincere.
Have some children I have yet to meet, And hopefully understanding has already been defeated.
It was a learning process that I chose, but I learnt so much through all of those.
Once the lord actually gave me the gift of a child, I already knew I would have to quit taking rides.
If you are actually on this level, Then you already know I've had a few dances with the devil.
Only to find out in the end, About this thing called your life of sin.
So when this is finally done, I already told them I wouldn`t turn and run.
So I`ll end this journey on a good note, Instead of a cloud of gun smoke.
Just don`t ever lose your faith, For this long journey I was suppose to take.
