Analysis of Breakdown

isolated and despondent
she rides the waves of fear
and in the darkness of her soul
the feast is drawing near

the beauty of her inner self
once mirrored in its eyes
is shattered into shards of glass
reflecting only cries

it moves inside and latches on
then permeates her mind
time skips a beat and she is left
unshapen and resigned

yet deep inside the shell that's left
and where no light can reach
the memory of who she was
is marked upon the beast
