Analysis of room

living with an emotionally absent alcoholic

is not actually all that different

to an optimist

both have little room

for sadness or pain

but instead will push their own

version of events

a positive lens facing out like a badge

pinned to a sweater

one points to how they are

and the other

where they’d like to be

but neither has room
