Analysis of One Sudden Summer’s Evening: Ballad
It began on a sudden summer's evening:
I was the funniest kid around,
He was the best big brother
Until it all sunk into the ground
He was my role model,
The best big brother he could be,
Parents weren’t around much
So it was just him and me.
We used to giggle so well together,
Back then.
We wanted to travel around the world,
Even though I was just 10
But one evening, one sudden evening,
We had too much fun.
Together we decided to run away,
We thought the fun we had, wasn’t done
From that moment on, our lives had changed.
And then it happened:
Oh no! Oh no!
We got caught!
My brother in the driver's seat
But oh, he fought
Seeing the life leave my brother
I scream in sorrow
Reality kicked in
That my brother won’t be here tomorrow
The next day I thought my heart had broken,
I thought my eyes had burst into flames,
I was alone
But still, he is in my thoughts.
I think about how it all changed that evening,
That sudden summer's evening.
My heart... ouch!
When I think of the best big brother
My big brother and me
