Analysis of Fall
J. Michael Welborn 1970 (Alabama)
A rooster crows
Before the dawn
As if to awaken
All who have gone
New day dawns
It's beauty awakens
The darkness hides
For another day.
The sun that shines
Replaces the night
For those who fear
Everything is right.
Flowers that bloom
Sweet the air.
It's beauty graces
Blossoms so fair
Crisp and cool
The fall morning air
Animal pouches full
Too much to bear.
The joy of laughter
The children at play
Their coast they shed
By mid-fall day.
Plants they shrink
Back into the ground
Rejuvenate and rest
Without a sound.
Trees they cange
Burnt orange and red
Their leaves then fall
The ground then fed.
Preparations are made
The snow has come
All creatures on earth
are warm at home.
