Analysis of The Lottery of My Life
The lottery - she said she won today, my mother;
Five thousand - she said, with a triumphant smile!
I could see my childhood, securely covered within,
Her hope, her sacrifice - In her pain, I had my gain.
Let me tell the world, conclusively, at the top of my voice,
Let me climb the top of the world to proclaim loud:
I won it already, the lottery, the very moment of my birth,
Being born to her, in her sacred chalice of creation.
Her love, like an ocean unbounded, fills my heart.
Her love, like O2 in cells, flashes flood in my vein.
How could a man ever thank her for all she’s given,
Through her sweat, her blood, and her selfless love!
I’m no man today, had she not been my mother!
I’m not worthy; but who could ever be my mother!
Her sweat is my bread, savouring sweet in its sour.
How many deserts would make me sweat like her!
