Analysis of The shadow on the wall

The restless night, an awakening fright, a shadow on the wall
The dim light creeps, a stair that creaks, the shadow looming tall
The light it fades, the gloom in shades
Does a figure stalk the hall
A raven’s crows know the fear that grows, as the shadow collects its toll
