Analysis of Someone to Be
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
We’ll ride on the four living creatures
At least somewhere in my dreams
But when my time has come
I’ll see there’s much more than it seems
I want to be like Jesus Christ
And love you like he does
But when I try to do that
I remember who I was
And though you never even liked me
My reward is loving you
Its in the way it makes me feel
Yes, I have feelings too!
I’m just not driven by them
In the way the world is
I have to show some self-control
And do the things he did
Who do you want to be?
Do you have a hero?
