Analysis of Christian Warfare
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Be secure in the Lord,
In the strength of His might;
And be in one accord,
Remaining in His light.
Wear the armor of God,
And be able to stand;
As not to become flawed,
That Satan would command.
We wrestle against earth,
Against the flesh and blood;
The rulers it gives birth,
That inundates a flood.
The powers of darkness,
And forces of evil;
Filling with the starkness,
Controlled by the devil.
Wear the armor of God,
Withstand the evil day;
Stand firm as you laud,
And you trust and obey.
Fasten the belt of truth,
And the righteous breastplate;
Never to be uncouth,
That is sealing your fate.
Put on shoes for your feet,
From the Gospel of peace;
That will never retreat,
Giving faith not to cease.
The shield of faith will guard,
Against the flaming darts;
That Satan would bombard,
Shot from his fervid carts.
The sword of the Spirit,
Helmet of salvation;
As the Word gives merit,
As a new creation.
Pray with supplication,
All times in the Spirit;
With glorification,
For what you inherit.
