Analysis of 1:51 am
I’d do anything to go back to that night
seeing your eyes catching the light
wearing that New York Jets T-shirt
the street lamps reflecting the empty sidewalks
striking your face
highlighting each feature
for just a brief moment
but enough for me to notice your beauty,
you saw me staring
I was too shy to tell you how pretty you are
and you stole my paper airplane necklace
to wear around your neck
I think it looks way better on you anyways
it felt like we had known each other for years
and we weren’t even friends
we shared a pair of headphones and listened to the Sex Pistols until even the owls went to sleep
then we laid on the grass
and told each other things we hadn't told anyone
then you realized it was way past your curfew
and you left in a hurry,
two years later
I haven’t heard from you since
but each time I look at the paper airplane necklace I still wear around my neck
I think about you to this day
