Analysis of Status Spies

Far too many seem bewildered.
By what it is others may think of them.
As if to prioritize this,
Has a direct effect...
On the next step taken they choose,
To make the right excuses.
Not heard before to have been used.

Far too many are caught up,
In the making of impressions.
And pretensions outdated yet still faked.
Just for the purpose to feel accepted.
By the very ones charading in masquerade.
Behind masks,
No one knows or have been shown...
Their true faces.

'Excuse me, but...
This is a private affair.
Only those invited are allowed to enter.'

'Will you stop joking.
You act as if you don't recognize me.
I have decided,
No longer will I hide or deny...
My true identity.'

'Do I recognize you?
No.
And what I value most,
Is being approved and accepted.
That you dare to reveal your true face?
I will not let that jeopardize,
My reputation.
Status and credibility.
As one incapable to deceive publicly,
To have done it...
Without exposing myself,
To truth and its reality!
Are you NUTS?
Has truth caused you to lose your mind?'

'No need to answer the obvious.
I suggest,
You turn around...
Disappear and stay lost!'

'Ssshhh.
Lower your voice.
Who are you?
One of those status spies?
Here to reveal the cover up,
Of our fictioned to delude lives?
What are you trying to do?
Have me suspected,
As a supporter of face unmasking?
Do you not realize how long it takes,
To imitate and fake a life?
To have others believe without doubt?
NO!
You have a look of incredible awareness!

Leave.
Now!'
