Analysis of I Blame Gloria Gaynor
Richard Thompson 1953 (Swanwick)
I Blame Gloria Gaynor
Something wrong
The pots are rattling
Like guns gattling
Too much heat and fury
What’s wrong love, tell me your story
We need to talk
I don’t love you anymore
I need more room
My own space
I can’t live a day longer in this place
Once you were a great provider
Now a need a break, a divider
It’s me not you
I don’t love you anymore
You didn’t see it coming
Then the questions start
Have you got another lover?
Is it him next door
Is it me brother?
No its’ not that
I just don’t love you anymore
The mood soon swings
From anger to guilt
Was I that bad under the quilt?
Where will you go
Where will you stay
Can’t you just sleep on it
Give it another day
No, because I don’t love you anymore
What about our marriage pact
And making love. It was just an act
Ok. Let’s start anew
I didn’t really appreciate you
No you just be on shells walking
It’s the truth I’m talking
I’m gone now gone
I’m out the door
Because……
