Analysis of Keep it dark

Africanicity
Black skin ethnicity
What's this color to me
A blessing or a deficiency

What's my hair to me
What's my texture to me
What's the deligency
Who am I to me

Racism is a disease
From the white supremacists
To them foreign antagonists
Where is the skin pharmacist

To transform me entirely
Not to a metaphor of the skin
But to a newly colored being
With no regards to skin

No black white whatsoever
To a life changing manoeuver
To finally be black over
But still keep the culture

To be past the mind
That only in skin I find
Something to feel my pride
What's the

What's the kindest word for lies
They don't like us for the skin we wear
I wait everyday to witness racist's demise
Where we don't live in a white world, in disguise

And skin doesn't name us
a world where black men don't end up in cuffs
Living life with a fuss
