Analysis of My Maelstrom

Cascading profanities
Like a torrent plunge
Misguided through mists
Shrouding mortal wounds
Obscured, re-wounded.

The pool beneath
A beautiful spectre
Whose face and form
released or born
from prismed orb
hides this violence
that boils and tumbles
rolling boulders that crush
with pulverous fury
The limit set upon it.

My eye gathers wet
And holds it
As a lake does covet
Its rivers and tributaries
Lent swell from wrong-filled
Fateful showers globes
And storms long since spent
whose thunderous echo now
does not a baby's eye blink
nor stir at all the beat
of a tiny heart.

Yet of some outrage born
grows this torrent.
To breach a noble dam
Or soothe the burn
of some heaven's flash or
snarling bolt released
then hidden in a flash.

On my cheek are boulders
Loosed beneath
The upthrown veil
Lent again a power
to move mountains
Or be damned until
once more profanity
too great swells this
lake and unmoving
Moves silently beneath
The vapid still adorned
With bows of rain

Vortices with scorching eyes
and searing spit again
grinding pain against pain
