Analysis of Praise the Lord
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
Sticks and stones along the road
Can sometimes make me falter
But wicked words from unclean lips
Won’t keep me from the alter
A background that is only black
Will make my light shine brighter
And in the deepest darkest night
My burden will be lighter
I love the way that Jesus works
In troubled circumstances
To shine a light that all can see
That there are second chances
He heals the sick, the lame, the blind
And drives out evil spirits
He opens the ears of the deaf
So even they can hear it
