Analysis of Immortality
What is life? Is it an archetypical phenomenon or an agreed-upon notion?
Many beings travail this plane but only a few possess erudition.
Quadrillions of creatures are driven by their instincts, save a few who can ponder.
What does it mean to live? They ruminate about this consciously as they wander.
Is life supposed to have an expiry date?
Is there a certified glorious event for a particular date?
Every creature, whether sentient or not faced many foes but everyone is equal in this regard, they all fell to one.
It's name is death, the end of all life, the bringer of peace and sorrow and every time it fought, it always won.
For years, sentient creatures have sought to combat that foe.
They turned to physics, alchemy, magic but still, they could never go toe to toe.
It's the real quandary between life and death.
The constant struggle amongst all those who draw breath.
No matter the achievements or feats of a man, death claims his life as prize.
But still, the hearts of men wouldn't waver, to conquer that foe, they pay any price.
With this long drawn-out war that has lasted since the beginning of life? The great quest of the exploits of those in temporality.
What shall happen, will we find a way to conquer the stipulated mortality?
Or shall in the passage of time, will all lives be extinguished and relentlessly destroyed by death's cruel hand?
