Analysis of I’m Glad I made it to today!

As a child I struggled
I would have to fight to find my way
But now as I set and reflect
I’m glad I made it to today

Into Adulthood I stumbled
Many wrong paths I took along the way
But with guardian angels guiding me
I’m glad I made it to today

Friends have come and gone
Some are here to stay
I cherish each and everyone of them
I’m glad I made it to today

My children were a gift from god
They too guided me on my way
4 beautiful grandchildren they have given me
I’m glad I made it to today

Through sickness I’ve come
Many blessing’s I ’ve been given along the way
Cancer was the scariest of those
I’m glad I made it to today

Through menopause
Many sleepless nights I’d lay
Crying for no reason it seems
I’m glad I made it to today

Time seems to go faster with age
Hair that naturally turns grey
Fine lines that are creeping in
I’m glad I made it to today

Moments I wish things would slow down
Not enough hours in my day
But now as I set and reflect
I’m glad I made it to today

About this poem

I was sitting reflecting one day on my life's Journeys and through all the adversities in my life from childhood and leaving home at 15 to finding myself as an adult and going though breast cancer at 34 with 2 young children and I thought "I'm glad I made it to today" as I was at a good place in my life.
