Analysis of Have You Seen Daddy?
I see a man...
Dressed in rags...
He is homeless
Perhaps I have seen him in a dream?
His face seemed...
of a familiar countenance...
One that I would mold out of clay
with each finger I stroke
the form of his eyes
a nose
and lips sealed
silent, when I ask,
"Have you seen Daddy?"
Features set
in ceramic stone
I set upon the mantle
Never
shall I forget his face
as I hand him $5
and go on my way...

About this poem
I wrote this after I had a vivid dream of my father. He had been missing for years. Not being of a sound mind, I wondered if he was even still alive.
