Analysis of Praising the Creator
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Shout for joy in the Lord,
Praise befits the upright;
Show that He is adored,
He will bless with delight.
Give thanks unto the Lord,
With the lyre and harp;
Your praises not ignored,
When it comes from the heart.
Sing to Him a new song,
Play skillfully on strings;
Joyful shouts that are strong,
In harmony one sings.
For His Word is upright,
His work in faithfulness;
With truth and His insight,
That we show gratefulness.
The Lord loves righteousness,
Giving His steadfast love;
The goodness of justice,
Comes from Heaven above.
By the Word of the Lord,
That was made by His breath;
All of life will afford,
Defiance can bring death.
The waters of the sea,
He gathers as a heap;
Causing complacency,
Makes waves to fall asleep.
Let the earth fear the Lord,
All living stand in awe;
Remain in one accord,
Not to falter or fall.
All was done as He spake,
Commanded to stand fast;
The Lord will not forsake,
Everything He did cast.
