Analysis of Not a poet

I want to be a poet
Not for the love of the words
For the acceptance

Vivid in my memories
childhood devoid of literature
books and comics,

When I see folks
calling themselves, a reader
A writer
It brings me an inferiority
the strange compulsion
To fill that void

Fear for those who read and write?
Who says that they love to read and write

About this poem

This poem is about how I feel when I see or meet people who had the privilege to enjoy reading books, doing poetry, and participating in cultural activities, which I was somewhat devoid of. I feel they might have a superior outlook and feel less about myself.
