Analysis of Broken on the Rock

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Interpretation is a word,
I seem to hear a lot.
But I’ll still talk about the Truth!
Its all they haven’t got!

They listen to the angels
And the men of high esteem!
But when you separate the milk;
They cannot find the cream.

They wander in the desert
Of the world on their own!
They claim to know the God of Truth;
But still they won’t come home.

How can they claim to know Him?
If they do not know His Son.
Jesus is the Christ forever;
He’s the only One!

He will not fade or go away,
No matter your condition;
He holds you with the hand of God,
As you give Him permission.

Though he could surely conquer you
And sell you to another.
He still stands and calls out
My friend I want to be your lover!

Just like the waves come to the beach
And there they find their end!
When you fall broken on the Rock;
To heaven you’ll ascend!
