Analysis of The Quiet

When sorrow so strong has taken hold
And regret etches its cruel mark across your flailing heart
When faces of friends twist in your own shadow
And a whispered threat becomes your only companion
When strong boots of confusion trample and obscure the clear path to rescue
And walls grow wings to meet you in the clouds
Hold on.

When the breath of the master leaves a smoldering scar on your neck
And a solitary retreat is met with poisonous assault
When the skin of the snake feels so warm in the dark
And precious pearls spill forth to the mud from your decayed crown
When endless tears wretch you to sleep
And tragic dreams cry you awake
Hold on.

When panic becomes an elevator
And you push all the buttons
When you say goodbye
And never leave
When the road isn’t quite long enough to get where you are going
And the love which once painted your masterpiece has become a puzzle with a piece missing
Hold on.

Forever and ever
Hold on.
