Analysis of THE THINGS THAT NO LONGER SERVE ME

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

Do not hold my past against me no longer do I live there I do not live in the future because living there is too high at this moment the rent of the present is all this wandering soul can afford

I saw family, friends, and lovers leave only because they gave me a reason not to believe in myself  I am letting go of the things that will not last and have me living my life fast when at this growing age I want to move in silence I want to go at the pace of the turtle nice and slow because in the cartoons he always wins
