Analysis of The Word of Life
That which was from the beginning,
Upon which as we should have heard;
Our eyes have seen the sinning,
And we have been touched by His Word.
For life was made to manifest,
What we have seen to testify;
Eternal life as our quest,
A manifest not to deny.
I have seen and heard to proclaim,
So that you may have fellowship;
Praising the Father in His name,
Along with His Son by the lip.
I write so that joy is complete,
The message we have heard from Him;
And the darkness we can defeat,
No longer a need to feel grim.
In fellowship we not embark,
In lies departing from the truth;
Walking in the light not the dark,
We are humbled and not uncouth.
Walk in the light as He is light,
Of fellowship with each other;
For His blood will make you upright,
Loving your sister and brother.
If we say that we have no sin,
Ourselves then we have deceived;
The truth will never be within,
And salvation is not received.
But if we confess our sin,
The Father is faithful and just;
Will forgive and cleanse us within,
Cleansing us from unrighteous lust.
If we say that we have not sinned,
Then we have made Him a liar;
Not spiritually disciplined,
Destined for the hellish fire.
