Analysis of O Brother
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
As shadows flee across the earth
Another child is given birth
And as one goes so goes the other
Just like a sister with her brother
She told Him what they did to her
How she begged; but no one heard
All the pain that she went through
And how they made her black and blue
From swollen eyes her teardrops fell
Her Brother swore they’re going to hell
And when He found them; sure enough
He found that they were not that tough
He came against the biggest one
And kicked his ass, it seemed such fun
He fell upon the rest of them
And brought those wretches to their end
AMEN!
