Analysis of Growth in Faith
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
His Divine power has granted,
Of all things pertaining to life;
Through the knowledge, He has planted,
Glory for coping through the strife.
He has granted a great promise,
To partake the divine nature;
And be pardoned through His justice,
For becoming a new creature.
Escape the corrupted worldly lust,
That promotes sinful desire;
Supplement faith in having trust,
A virtue you can acquire.
Knowledge in giving self-control,
Self-control causes steadfastness;
Godlike affection for your soul,
And a love filled with godliness.
These things are to be found in you,
Keeping you to be effective;
For the knowledge of Christ is true,
As fruitful in your objective.
Whoever lacks these things is blind,
Forgetting he was cleansed from sin;
His cognitive skills have declined,
Letting new corruption begin.
Be more diligent to confirm,
Of your calling and election;
Practice these so that you can learn,
About your Divine selection.
You will be richly provided,
Access into the His Kingdom;
And by Christ, you will be guided,
Through His knowledge and His wisdom.
