Analysis of The Authority of the Son
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Truly, truly, I say to you,
The Son does nothing on His own;
Only what the Father will do,
For the triune God on the throne.
For the Father does love the Son,
And greater works that have been shown;
Together of that, they have done,
Which can never be done alone.
As the Father raises the dead,
He is able to give them life;
The Son also raises from their bed,
To whom He will without the strife.
The Father is judging no one,
That all men and women honor;
He gives all judgment to the Son,
Who is humbled as a fawner.
Those who do not honor the Son,
By the Father who had been sent;
Shall be judged by what they had done,
And considered a dissident.
They have an earthly desire,
Will never see life after death;
And cast in the lake of fire,
After they had breathed their last breath.
Those who hear His Word and believe,
Shall not see a condemnation,
Everlasting life they receive,
And see a new revelation.
