Analysis of Suffering in Silence

Heather O’Brien 1987 (Jacksonville Fl)

The deepest pain inside I hide well
I laugh, I smile so they think I’m ok
My focus turned to help those around
All the while I’m slowly dying inside

The tears, they find me in the night
While others are sleeping peacefully
The pain so unbearable I can’t breathe
No one near to comfort my crying soul

Sinking lower and lower into the dark
Yearning for someone to hold me close
Every day throwing new punches my way
Beating me down to the very core

We all have our own demons to fight
A new day comes for me to hide my pain
I bury it deep down until the night comes
And finds me once again in deep agony
