Analysis of Sonnet # 27

Luis A. Estable 1958 (Oriente, Cuba)

Why do I think you're not all mirth with me?
And that my verse does always fall behind.
Yes, when I write, my mind's a devotee.
Could I be wrong when in my heart you're kind?
If in my poems the fire is too low,
It's not my blood but then not bright my mind.
But I in other ways can hugely grow,
To swear I love and with my tears combined.
Come true to me or give me a fair deal.
How much care you for this a gentle man?
Please, sweet or sour, your truth do now reveal!
Yes, honesty to calm my thoughts, it can!
If you for me have sweet, please show your honey!
If then, yes, salt: I'll try the truth, dear, calmly.
