Analysis of The Church Leaders
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
If someone aspires to lead,
He desires a noble task;
For doing a good job indeed,
Sincere and not wearing a mask.
He has to be above reproach,
Being the husband of one wife;
Sober-minded, mentor and coach,
Being respectable in life.
Never being violent but gentle,
Not as a lover of money;
Not quarrelsome or judgmental,
But being fed spiritual honey.
He must manage his household well,
Keeping his children submissive;
Godly relationship to dwell,
To the Lord being permissive.
If not knowing how to manage,
How would he supervise the church;
The godly have an advantage,
For the arrangement of research.
Not a novice or new convert,
Nor being puffed up with conceit;
Not as a boastful extrovert,
But condemning any deceit.
He has to be well thought about,
Having a good reputation;
Not having any thoughts of doubt,
But honor God’s proclamation.
