Analysis of NO SURPRISE

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

Nothing seems to surprise me anymore after stepping in shit so many times. I open my eyes, take a long stretch, and admire another sunrise. Today I know my words will not make any sense because last night, I received so many vivid messages inside of my night dreams. The voice was many, all talking at once, then turning into screams when they believed I was not listening and they were growing impatient, waiting their turn.

It is no surprise that some may find these words absurd and spoken by that which you may consider a madman, yet you hang onto every word I have said, walking through the flames without a single burn from the fire.

It comes as no surprise when the images and sounds become more apparent when the mind is open to receiving the letters on the notes that no one no longer believes.
