Analysis of The Perfect Sacrifice
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Will we have been sanctified,
Through the offering of Christ;
His body was crucified,
No longer earthly enticed.
Every priest stands in service,
Offering their sacrifice;
For the sins that they confess,
Praying to Him for advice.
Christ has offered for all time,
Single sacrifice for sin;
Forgiveness erases crime,
After confession has been.
The right hand of God Christ sits,
While He waits for His foes;
Be a footstool that submits,
That only Him and time knows.
By a single offering,
Perfected and sanctified;
Of what He is conquering,
As being the crucified.
