Analysis of Drowning

Dimming thoughts of happiness
where laughter can't be found.
Fighting through the anger,
slowly waiting to drown.
Gasping for eternity
with not a drop of air in sight.
The bubbles descending higher
as the daylight fades to night.
The coldness overtaking
what warmth was once a blaze,
as embers fizzle softly
under a cloudy haze.
"Better days will come"
"It's not as bad as it seems"
how long will I continue to plummet,
til the light begins to beam.
I guess for now I'll keep drowning
and slowly fading away.
I'll never be who I was before,
but that's completely okay.
