Analysis of Divine Glory
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Lord, how majestic is Your name,
You set glory above Heaven;
Inspiration that does enflame,
The creation You have given.
Out of the mouth of the sucklings,
You have ordained strength from Your foes;
Making their land shake with rumblings,
Avenging for the life they chose.
When I look up at Your Heaven,
In creating the moon and stars;
Each one set in a place given,
Formed perfectly having no scars.
What is a man mindful of You?
Sending the Son of man to share;
That the Gospel still remains true,
And shows just how much you care.
You made Him a little lower,
Than all the heavenly beings;
Crowned Him with glory and honor,
Experienced our feelings.
You have given Him dominion,
Over the works of Your own hands;
Attempting to change opinion,
That people honor Your commands.
All the sheep and beasts in the field,
Birds in the sky, fish in the sea;
The crops that all the people yield,
That You bless all creatures to be.
Lord, how majestic is Your name,
Throughout in Heaven and on earth;
We magnify as we proclaim,
The glory of Your priceless worth.
