Analysis of Amber Liquid
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
They are haunted
By the ghost
Of love lost
And the painful memories
Of what could have been.
The love songs
That once held
A promise of hope
Now leave them
With a sense of loss.
Another year has passed,
And little has changed.
The chimes at midnight fleeting
Are a harsh reminder
That time doesn't wait
For anyone.
It is a call to let go
Of the past,
But it falls
On deaf ears.
The sorrow, the regrets,
And the pain, all remain
Encased in a glass
Of amber liquid.
