Analysis of Woodruff
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
When we were young,
Everything felt infinite.
We could walk
For hours,
Discussing
Our dreams
And the adventures
We wanted to embark on.
We spent
Countless nights
Traversing
The main street
Of Woodruff,
Taking in the sights
And sounds
Of the small town
We called home.
But those days
Are gone now.
Life has taken us
On different paths,
And the carefree
Innocence of youth
Seems
Like a world away.
Though our memories
Are embedded
In my mind,
I can't help
But feel a tinge of regret.
You were right
About so many things,
And I wish
I listened to you more.
