Analysis of Part Of The Cosmos
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
In the shimmering shadows,
Where wild winds whisper secrets,
We stand alone, a solitary tribe.
Bound by reason, not belief,
We tread softly on this unyielding earth.
But the land remembers,
The ancient songs
Woven by unseen hands,
Tales of gods and goddesses,
Of creation and destruction,
Vibrating through time and space,
Nurturing fertile hearts,
Kept alive by ancestral breath.
They say we are the lost ones,
But how can we be lost,
When we have found each other?
We paint our stories
On the canvas of truth,
Amidst the chaos
Of divine brushstrokes.
No gods to guide us,
No prayers to answer,
Only the strength of our own conviction.
The spirits of the past beckon,
In the sighs of rustling leaves,
In the laughter of trickling streams,
In the embrace of a sunrise,
And the final breath of galaxy's end.
We do not seek salvation,
In a heaven unseen,
We find solace in the certainty
Of finitude and oblivion.
In this vast expanse,
We are but stardust,
Sparks of the cosmos,
Awakening to the miracle
Of our own existence.
And so we dance
On this shifting ground,
Unfettered by the weight
Of ancient dogmas.
In unity, we are bound,
In diversity, we find strength.
We are the seekers of truth,
The keepers of reason,
The disciples of doubt,
Transcending the boundaries
Of faith and belief,
As free spirits,
In the realm of the unexplained.
