Analysis of A Tangled Web

The words have been famously spoken
Left me broken, my interior not open
What a tangled web we often weave
When we conspire to only deceive
Myself is who I most misguide
Within the myths of an uncaring pride
I was still thankful in my thinking
Armored heavily in my shame in drinking
Curled in the corner like a small child
A tortured soul heavily reviled
Years of coldness finally warmed my heart
Arriving ever since my harmful start
Such an unimpressive pedigree
Covered with vast emotional debris
Something at some point had to change
Lingering in the familiar now seemed strange
Hiding in an unstable state of mind
Gazing wantingly at fate from behind
What I needed was a mental revolution
With purpose, not accidental retribution
So I sought God, rather he sought me
I began to listen, heard what He taught me
Watched the vision of truth unfold
Saw the wisdom in the words He told
Still I gazed at the world with rough eyes
My desire to love no longer disguised
The journey itself continues
My faith still leaves the tiniest of clues
As I march toward the golden gate
God help me realize my emboldened fate
