Erindrer Du, ja, det er noget siden,
— Da var Du mindre — husk en Sommerdag,
Dit Barneøie lyste, og skjøndt liden,
Stor som en Ven Du kom med glad Goddag.
Og vel var det hos Bedstefaer, vi mødtes,
Men dog ei i vort eget, danske Land;
Du følte det Beslægtede, der fødtes
Og adler og forener Mand med Mand;
Det var en Dansk, Du saae, og netop Den,
Med hvem i Eventyret Du var bleven Ven.
Behold det samme Sind i Livsens Dage!
Vær flink og kjæk! Alt Godt! Kun ei forsage!
